Do I need an e-way bill for my shipment?

Usually yes, if the consignment value is above ₹50,000. We can generate it for you from your invoice details. Read our e-way bill guide for the details.

What is the difference between FTL and PTL?

With full truckload (FTL) you book the whole vehicle and it goes directly to your consignee. With part truckload (PTL) your goods share space with other shipments and move through our hubs, so it costs less for smaller loads but takes a little longer.

How is freight charged?

FTL is priced per trip by vehicle size. PTL, express and air are charged on the higher of actual or volumetric weight. Use our chargeable weight calculator to estimate it.

Is my cargo insured?

Our liability as a carrier is limited by law and by our terms. For full protection, choose transit insurance on the declared value when you book. See our claims policy.

Do you deliver to remote and north-east locations?

Yes. We serve 19,000+ PIN codes, including the north-east, J&K and island territories. Some remote areas carry an out-of-delivery-area (ODA) charge. Check a PIN code.

Which should I book, FTL or PTL?

If your cargo fills more than about half a truck, or cannot be re-handled, FTL is usually better value. Below that, PTL costs less because you share the vehicle.

What happens if the truck is late for placement?

We tell you as soon as we know, and arrange a replacement vehicle where one is available. Placement commitments are part of your rate contract.

Are loading and unloading included?

Loading and unloading are included where stated in your quote. Detention beyond the free time at either end is charged as per the contract.

Can I track the truck myself?

Yes. You get a tracking link for each consignment, and account customers can see all their live trucks in one view.

How is air cargo charged?

On the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight, where volumetric weight is length × width × height in cm divided by 5000.

Can you carry lithium batteries or chemicals?

Some classes, yes, with the correct packing and declaration. Tell us the product and share the MSDS before booking.

What is the cut-off for same-day delivery?

Usually a pickup before 11 am for metro pairs. We confirm the exact cut-off for your route when you book.

Is cold-chain available on every route?

On all major metro routes. For smaller airports we confirm availability and packaging when you book.

No minimum for B2B express. For e-commerce accounts we agree a pickup schedule based on your expected volume.

How quickly is COD remitted?

Weekly, to your registered bank account, with a reconciliation statement for every remittance.

What happens if the customer is not available?

We attempt delivery up to three times and contact the customer before each attempt. You can also give instructions from your dashboard.

For rail, yes, on some corridors through consolidated wagons. For coastal, we can consolidate part loads on selected routes.

E-way bill: a five-minute checklist for dispatch teams

Most delays at state borders come from small mistakes on the e-way bill, not from the cargo itself. This checklist covers what our dispatch teams verify before a vehicle leaves the gate.

Start with Part A. The invoice number, date and value must match the tax invoice exactly, including any rounding. The HSN code should be the one on the invoice, not a general code for the product family. The delivery PIN code decides the distance calculation, so an incorrect PIN can shorten the validity of the bill.

Part B carries the vehicle number, and it has to be updated every time the vehicle changes. If your cargo moves through a hub and changes trucks, the transporter must update Part B before the new vehicle starts. When we carry a consignment, we take care of this for you.

Validity is calculated from the distance. Plan for stoppages, weighbridge queues and night driving restrictions in some states, and extend the bill before it lapses rather than after.

Finally, keep the documents together in the cabin: invoice, e-way bill, and for regulated cargo the additional papers that apply, such as a TREM card for chemicals or a drug licence copy for pharma.

Planning your festive peak: what to book, and when

Between September and November, capacity on India’s main corridors tightens and rates move. Brands that plan early pay less and miss fewer delivery slots.

Start by looking at last year’s dispatch volumes week by week rather than month by month. The peak is rarely spread evenly, and a single week often carries a quarter of the season’s volume.

Book line-haul capacity for those peak weeks six to eight weeks ahead. Vehicles are easiest to secure before the festive calendar is public knowledge, and a committed plan lets us hold trucks for you.

Where possible, move stock closer to your markets before the peak. Warehousing a fortnight early is almost always cheaper than express freight during the rush.

Lastly, agree escalation contacts with your logistics partner in advance. During peak weeks the difference between a delivery made and one missed is often a phone call answered at 9 pm.

Rail or road: how we choose on long corridors

On lanes above roughly 1,200 km, rail becomes competitive with road, and on some corridors it is clearly cheaper. But the right answer depends on more than distance.

Rail wins when the cargo is heavy, the value per tonne is moderate and the delivery window is measured in days rather than hours. It also produces far less CO₂ per tonne-km, which matters increasingly to shippers reporting their emissions.

Road wins when the consignee needs a fixed arrival slot, when the cargo is fragile and cannot be handled repeatedly, or when the first and last mile legs would cancel out the rail savings.

In practice we model both for each lane, including the terminal handling and road legs on either end, and present the two options with the real door-to-door transit times. Many customers end up using rail for replenishment stock and road for urgent dispatches.

This policy explains how SpinSuccess Logistics Pvt. Ltd. (“SpinSuccess”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use our website, book a shipment or contact us. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

What we collect

Contact details you give us: name, company, email address, phone number and postal addresses for pickup and delivery.
Shipment details: cargo description, weight and dimensions, invoice value, GSTIN, e-way bill details and consignee information.
Usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
Recordings of calls to our customer service numbers, where we tell you at the start of the call.

Why we use it

To give you a quote, carry your consignment and deliver it to the right person.
To generate invoices, e-way bills and other statutory documents.
To send you tracking updates and respond to your queries and complaints.
To improve our services, plan capacity and prevent fraud.
To meet legal obligations, including tax, transport and law-enforcement requirements.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with our branch staff, transport partners and delivery agents who carry your consignment, with technology providers who host our systems on our instructions, with insurers when a claim is raised, and with government authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.

Consignee data

When you book a shipment you give us the consignee’s name, address and phone number. You confirm that you are entitled to share those details with us for the purpose of delivery. We use them only for that delivery and the related communication.

How long we keep it

Shipment and billing records are kept for eight years, which is the period we are required to retain them for tax and transport records. Marketing contact details are kept until you ask us to remove them. Website usage logs are kept for twelve months.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or complete it, ask us to erase it where we no longer need it, withdraw a consent you gave us, or nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to. Write to our Grievance Officer using the details on our grievance redressal page and we will respond within the time the law allows.

Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit and staff training to protect personal data. No system is completely secure, so we also keep an incident process and will inform you and the Data Protection Board if a breach affects you.

Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data about children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you by email when the change is significant.

These terms govern the carriage of goods by SpinSuccess Logistics Pvt. Ltd. and your use of this website. By booking a consignment with us you accept them.

1. Our role

We act as a common carrier registered under the Carriage by Road Act, 2007, and as a logistics service provider arranging transport by road, rail, air and sea. Where we arrange carriage by another carrier, that carrier’s conditions also apply to that leg.

2. Booking and documents

A booking is confirmed when we issue a consignment note (LR). You must give us accurate details of the goods, their weight, dimensions and value, along with a valid tax invoice, e-way bill where required and any permits the cargo needs. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you declare.

3. Rates and payment

Rates are quoted for the details you give us and are valid for the period stated in the quote. If the actual weight, dimensions, location or waiting time differ, we will re-rate the consignment and tell you. Charges are payable within the credit period agreed in writing, or before delivery for to-pay consignments. GST applies as notified.

4. Packing

Goods must be packed to withstand normal handling and stacking in road, rail, air or sea transport. We may refuse cargo that is unsafely packed, and we are not liable for damage arising from inadequate packing.

5. Prohibited goods

We do not carry the items listed in our prohibited and restricted goods policy. If such goods are handed to us without disclosure, we may hold, return or hand them to the authorities, at your cost.

6. Delivery

Transit times we publish or quote are estimates, not guarantees, unless we have agreed a time-definite service in writing. Delivery is complete when the consignee, or a person at the delivery address who appears authorised, acknowledges receipt. Our shipping and delivery policy explains attempts, storage and undelivered cargo.

7. Liability

Our liability for loss of or damage to goods is limited as provided under the Carriage by Road Act, 2007 and the rules made under it, unless you declare a higher value at booking, pay the applicable risk surcharge and we accept it in writing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, contract or market. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Events beyond our control

We are not liable for delay or non-performance caused by events outside our reasonable control, including weather, floods, road closures, strikes, riots, government orders and acts of God.

9. Lien

We may hold goods and documents against unpaid charges owed to us for that consignment or any other, as permitted by law.

10. Claims

Claims must be raised within the time limits set out in our claims policy, with the documents listed there.

11. Website use

The content on this website is ours or our licensors’. You may use it for your own business purposes but may not copy it for commercial republication. Tools such as calculators are provided for guidance only and their results are not binding quotes.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any arbitration clause agreed in a separate contract with you.

Pickup

Pickups booked before 2 pm on a working day are attempted the same day in serviceable areas, and otherwise on the next working day. The consignor must have the goods packed, the invoice ready and, where applicable, the e-way bill generated.

Transit times

Published transit times are counted in working days from the day after pickup and exclude Sundays and public holidays at origin or destination. They assume normal road, rail and flight conditions and clear paperwork.

These are indicative. Weather, state checkposts, strikes and vehicle restrictions in city limits can add days.

Delivery attempts

We attempt delivery up to three times on working days. If delivery fails because the consignee is unavailable, refuses the consignment or the address is incorrect, we hold the goods at the destination branch and inform the consignor.

Demurrage and storage

Consignments held at our branch are free of storage charge for 48 hours after the first delivery attempt or arrival intimation. After that, storage charges apply at the rate stated in your quote or rate contract.

Undelivered consignments

If a consignment remains undelivered for 30 days and we receive no disposal instructions, we may return it to the consignor at the consignor’s cost, or dispose of it as permitted by law after giving written notice.

ODA locations

Some remote PIN codes are out of our direct delivery area. These carry an ODA charge and longer transit, and delivery may be to the nearest serviceable point. Check any PIN code with our serviceability tool.

Proof of delivery

An electronic proof of delivery is available on request and is sent by email on the day of delivery for account customers.

Cancelling a booking

Before pickup: cancel at no charge by calling your branch or emailing us, as long as the vehicle has not been dispatched to your location.
After the vehicle has been placed: a placement charge applies, equal to the actual cost of moving the vehicle to and from your location, subject to a minimum stated in your quote.
After the consignment has been picked up: the booking cannot be cancelled. You may ask for a return to origin, which is charged as a fresh consignment.

Refunds

Where a refund is due, we process it within 7 working days of approval, to the original payment method or by NEFT to the bank account from which payment was made. Bank charges, if any, are borne by us. GST already charged is refunded in line with the credit note issued.

Service failure

Where we have agreed a time-definite service in writing and the consignment is delivered late for reasons within our control, we refund the express premium paid for that consignment. This is a refund of freight, not compensation for the value of the goods, which is covered by our claims policy.

Cash on delivery

COD amounts collected are remitted weekly to the registered bank account of the consignor, after deduction of the agreed COD handling charge. Reconciliation statements are shared with each remittance.

Duplicate or excess payments

Duplicate payments and billing errors are refunded or adjusted against your next invoice, whichever you prefer, within 7 working days of the error being confirmed.

If goods are lost, short-delivered or damaged in our custody, this policy explains what to do and what you can recover.

Tell us quickly

Visible damage or shortage: record it on the proof of delivery at the time of delivery, and tell us in writing within 48 hours.
Concealed damage: tell us in writing within 7 days of delivery, keeping the packaging intact for inspection.
Non-delivery: tell us in writing within 30 days of the booking date.

Claims received after these periods may be rejected, as evidence is usually no longer available.

Photographs of the packaging and the damaged goods
A written claim stating the amount and how it is calculated
The proof of delivery with the endorsement, where damage was visible

How much you can recover

Where you have not declared a higher value at booking, our liability as a carrier is limited under the Carriage by Road Act, 2007 and the rules made under it. Where you declared the value and paid the risk surcharge, or took transit insurance through us, recovery is up to the declared or insured value, subject to the insurer’s assessment.

We do not pay for indirect losses such as loss of profit, penalties imposed by your customer, or market loss.

Damage caused by inadequate or unsuitable packing
Inherent defects, natural shrinkage, rust, leakage or spoilage of perishable goods beyond agreed conditions
Goods carried in breach of our prohibited goods policy or misdeclared cargo
Delay, where no time-definite service was agreed in writing
Events beyond our reasonable control, as described in our terms

How long it takes

We acknowledge a claim within 3 working days and give a decision within 30 days of receiving the complete documents. Insurer-backed claims follow the insurer’s timeline, and we keep you updated while they assess it.

Some goods cannot be carried at all, and others only with prior approval and the correct paperwork. Handing us prohibited cargo without telling us puts people at risk and is a breach of our terms.

Currency, bullion, precious stones and negotiable instruments
Narcotics, psychotropic substances and any goods whose carriage is an offence
Explosives, fireworks, ammunition, weapons and their parts
Live animals and human remains
Counterfeit goods, and goods that infringe someone else’s trademark or copyright
Goods without the documentation required by law, including cargo that should carry an e-way bill but does not

We carry only with prior approval

Dangerous goods in permitted classes, with correct UN packaging, labelling, MSDS and TREM card
Pharmaceuticals requiring temperature control, where the cold chain and licences are in place
Alcoholic beverages, where state excise permits are held and produced
Tobacco products, subject to state rules
High-value electronics and mobile phones, with declared value and insurance
Over-dimensional and heavy cargo, with route survey and permits
Perishables, where the shelf life allows the transit time
Batteries containing lithium, under the applicable packing instructions

If prohibited goods are found

We may stop the consignment, unload it, return it to the consignor or hand it to the authorities, at the consignor’s cost. Charges already paid are not refunded, and the consignor is responsible for any fine, penalty or damage that results.

E-way bills, in plain language.

What it is, when you need one, and what usually goes wrong.

A plain-language summary, not tax advice. Thresholds and exemptions differ between states and change over time; confirm the current position on the official GST portal or with your tax adviser.

What it is

An e-way bill is an electronic document generated on the GST portal before goods move. It carries a unique number, the invoice details and the vehicle number, and it must be available with the consignment during the journey.

When you need one

Generally, when the consignment value exceeds ₹50,000, for movement between states.
For movement inside a state, the threshold and the exemptions are set by that state, so they vary.
For some goods, such as handicrafts moved by an unregistered person, a bill is needed regardless of value.
Certain categories, including some exempted goods and non-motorised transport, do not need one.

Part A and Part B

Part A is the cargo: GSTIN of the supplier and recipient, delivery PIN code, invoice number, date and value, HSN code and reason for transport. Part B is the vehicle: the transporter ID and the vehicle number. Both must be complete before the goods move, and Part B must be updated whenever the vehicle changes.

Validity

Validity runs from the time Part B is first entered, and is based on the distance to be covered, with a longer allowance for over-dimensional cargo. Plan for checkpost queues and driving restrictions, and extend the bill before it lapses.

Who generates it

The supplier, the recipient or the transporter may generate it. When you book with SpinSuccess, our branch can generate the bill from your invoice, or update Part B against a bill you have already raised. Either way, tell us which one you want before pickup.

Five things that go wrong

The delivery PIN code is wrong, so the distance and validity are wrong.
Part B is not updated after a change of vehicle at a hub.
The invoice value on the bill does not match the tax invoice.
The bill lapses during a long halt, and the vehicle moves on an expired document.
The HSN code is generic rather than the one on the invoice.
